Hi! I am George Apfelbach, a late-twenties, single guy trying to figure out life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I grew up in the Midwest and went to school at Boston College before starting my career working in Finance in New York – to say the move to Tulsa was a big change is an understatement. I was more or less starting over, so I bought a house, a truck and got a furry best friend named Jackson. The journey has not been easy; I have battled loneliness, self-doubt and professional uncertainty, but the rewards of my struggles have always been blessings in disguise. As I shared my story with friends, I found that my experience was not unique. I started Riding Shotgun as a way to share my experience – the journey is ever-changing, and this blog is a way for us to ride shotgun in our own lives. A lot can happen when we put ourselves in the passenger seat and just go where the driver takes us.
